Signage added to the top of a portable toilet
In 2016 the Center Street Bridge went under a major restoration. The bridge was closed for the work and ‘portapodies’ were onsite for workers.
Some local artists felt they needed to make a political statement and Art Inside wanted to support their efforts by providing materials.
The signage was constructed from painted foam-board and was attached with duct tape. The artists intended to cause no damage to the structure. The sign went up on a Friday night and managed to stay in place until the following Monday morning when it was removed.
(The supplier of the portable unit had an advertising sticker on the door – in the photo we reworked the ad to hide the businesses identity.)
